Free Outdoor Movie Night This Thursday, August 13
READING, MA — RCTV Studios invites the community to gather for a free outdoor screening of The Princess Bride (PG-13) on Reading’s Town Common this Thursday, August 13, bringing residents and local businesses together for a summer evening of entertainment and community connection.
The lawn opens at 7 p.m., with the movie beginning at 8 p.m.
The event is made possible with the generous support of Reading Cooperative Bank, RCTV’s lead sponsor for the evening, along with event sponsors Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce and Tiny Pubs of Reading.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Reading Cooperative Bank and all of the local businesses and organizations that have come together to make this event possible,” said Deirdre Morales, Executive Director of RCTV Studios.
“RCTV is a community organization, and this movie night is a great example of what can happen when local businesses, nonprofits and residents work together to create something enjoyable for everyone.”
The evening will also include a special partnership with Nella’s Pizza, which will stay open an extra hour for Movie Night and donate a portion of its sales that evening to RCTV Studios. Attendees can grab pizza before or during the festivities while supporting RCTV’s nonprofit mission.
A number of additional local businesses and organizations have generously contributed items and support to help make the evening possible, including Calareso’s Farm Stand, Dandis Ice Cream, Dena Taylor Skating, the Boston Bruins Foundation, Tin Bucket, Public Kitchen, East Coast Massage Therapy, Boston Pub Crawling, and Gina’s Paradise Esthetics. The Boston Bruins Foundation has also contributed a signed Bruins hockey puck to support the event.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the movie outdoors with friends, family and neighbors. Admission is free, with raffle tickets and concessions available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting RCTV Studios and its nonprofit mission.
“This is about more than showing a movie,” Morales added. “It’s an opportunity to bring people together, introduce more residents to RCTV, celebrate the businesses and organizations that invest in our community, and create a fun summer tradition that we hope can continue to grow.”
