Robert G. Beairsto (“Bob”), of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Reading, passed away on July 26, 2026.
Born on December 31, 1941, to Claude and Marion (Nauss) Beairsto, Bob grew up in Belmont, Massachusetts alongside his older sister, Joan (Beairsto) Edgar. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1960 and proudly joined the United States Marine Corps in 1964. His service, which concluded in 1967 at the rank of sergeant, remained one of his greatest sources of pride throughout his life.
Following his military service, Bob built a 40-year career as an insurance underwriter with New England Life. He was known for his quick wit, his rock-and-roll piano playing, and his deep love of military history.
Bob met the love of his life, Diane (LeFebvre) Beairsto, in 1963 at a small grocery store in Belmont. They married in June 1966 and shared a devoted 60-year marriage. Bob set a remarkable example of what it meant to be a loyal and loving husband. Together, they raised three daughters—Lisa, Kim, and Julie—while living in Reading, Massachusetts from 1981 to 2012. Bob was an involved and supportive father, coaching girls’ softball, participating in Pop Warner cheerleading, and spending time at the Billerica Gun Club, where he was an avid member.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane, of The Villages, FL; his daughter Lisa Margossian and her husband, Ken, of Reading; his daughter Kim Ciccariello and her husband, Joe, of Reading; and his daughter Julie Segalla and her partner, Steven Bottaro, of Groveland. He also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Jack, Lauren, and Joey Ciccariello; Brian Margossian; and Matthew and Ryan Segalla.
A Funeral Service will be held at Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00am, preceded by a wake from 10:00-11:00am. Family and friends are invited to attend. Bob will be laid to rest at Wood End Cemetery in Reading.
