Obituary: William L. Lydon, 25

December 18, 2000 – May 26, 2026

William L. Lydon of Reading passed away suddenly on May 26, 2026, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was 25 years old.

William grew up in Reading and was a member of the Reading Memorial High School Class of 2019.

William loved skiing, golfing, and every sport he followed, especially the Boston Celtics. He had a great sense of humor, a kind heart and gentle soul. He had a love for animals, especially dogs! In high school, he played JV lacrosse and enjoyed skiing with friends and family. He also loved spending time at the driving range and golfing whenever he had the chance. Most recently, he worked at the Holyoke Veterans Hospital, helping veterans remain in their homes by assisting with errands and odd jobs. Will loved helping others and found great joy in listening to the veterans’ stories.

William was the cherished son of Daniel and Jacqueline Lydon, and the beloved brother of Declan M. Lydon and sister Samantha A. Lydon, all of Reading. He was the loving grandson of Kathleen Lydon of Billerica. He is also survived by his uncles, Mike Lydon and Stephen Palmer, and his aunts, Mary Lydon and Valerie Roy, as well as his godmother, Samantha Andrews, and many beloved cousins.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass at St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. in Reading on Monday, June 1st at 10:30AM.  Burial is private. There are no visiting hours.
