Reading Public Library to Celebrate Opening of New Library Terrace

Community invited to June 4 ribbon-cutting event showcasing the library’s new outdoor gathering and programming space

Reading Public Library (RPL), Reading, MA — Thanks to the generosity of the Reading Public Library Foundation, the library has a beautiful new outdoor space that extends our programming area and offers the community a new spot to meet up and enjoy the outdoors, especially through the summer.

The Terrace is located on the northeast side of the property and is landscaped with native plant species. It will accommodate library programs, including storytimes, activities, and performances. Tiered seating built into the slope provides relaxed, accessible seating.

When the weather is fine, you’ll see programs on the Terrace, including, on June 26, a family concert with Carrie Ferguson and the Grumpytime Fun Band. And, on June 27, Porchfest returns with three acts! Check our online calendar for more programs.

We’re excited to invite the public to join us on June 4 at 7:00 pm for the official Opening of the Library Terrace. Ribbon cutting will be followed by light refreshments. All are welcome.
