Dear Neighbors,
I am writing to announce my candidacy to represent Precinct 2 at Reading’s Town Meeting.
I have dedicated my life to public service—from serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, to working as a self-defense instructor, to a 35-year career as an officer with the Wakefield Police Department. Throughout that time, my focus has always been on the safety, well-being, and everyday concerns of the people I serve.
Reading is facing a number of important decisions that will shape our future. With a $141 million-plus town budget, ongoing project cost overruns, and continued investments in infrastructure and public safety, it is critical that we approach every decision with fiscal responsibility and common sense. I believe strongly in careful oversight of spending, transparency in how decisions are made, and making sure residents understand where their tax dollars are going.
We are also navigating significant changes through the MBTA Communities Act and the planning for multi-family housing. While growth is inevitable, it must be managed in a way that preserves the character of our neighborhoods while meeting state requirements. Likewise, discussions around downtown development, parking, and snow removal directly affect our day-to-day quality of life and deserve thoughtful, practical solutions.
As someone who has spent decades working in public safety, I understand the importance of investing in critical infrastructure while ensuring those investments are made wisely. Whether it’s prioritizing safety-related capital improvements or evaluating projects of all sizes, I will advocate for decisions that balance need, cost, and long-term impact.
I am also encouraged to see residents calling for greater transparency and accountability in town government. Town Meeting should be a place where voices are heard, information is clear, and decisions are made in the best interest of the entire community. I am committed to listening to residents of Precinct 2 and representing you with integrity, fairness, and respect.
As a motorcycle patrol officer, lifelong mechanic, and Harley-Davidson enthusiast, I value hard work, practicality, and looking out for one another—principles that I believe reflect the best of Reading.
