Francis “Fran” Giordano, of Reading, MA, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025. Born in Revere, MA, on June 9, 1950, and raised in East Boston, Fran was a devoted friend to all who knew him, as well as an exceptional hockey player. His years at Sacred Heart fostered many friendships that lasted a lifetime.
In the 1970s, Fran moved to Medford, where he opened a family bakery, Arthur’s Pastry Shop, with his father and brothers. More than fifty years later, Arthur’s Pastry remains a cornerstone of the Medford community and a true testament to the hard work and dedication Fran brought to his craft as both a baker and a master cake decorator.
Never satisfied with simply running a successful business, Fran also devoted much of his time to public service, serving as both a School Committee member and later as a City Councilor for the City of Medford. He was a strong advocate for public education and youth sports.
Fran is survived by his loving sons, three brothers and sister, who will continue to honor his memory and life’s work.
