Richard P. McSorley, of Reading, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 27, 2025. He was 91 years of age.
Dick graduated from Boston College High School and from Boston College. He loved to garden in his yard and loved to travel with his wife and family, especially to Cape Cod and Florida. He enjoyed playing golf and watching the Boston College Eagles and the Green Bay Packers as well as any activities involving his children and grandchildren.
Richard is the beloved husband of Susan (White) McSorley. He is the cherished father of Ann Marie Turner and her husband Eric, Richard McSorley and his wife Cynthia, and the late Karen Imbalzano and her surviving husband Tony. He is the loving grandfather of Thomas Imbalzano and his wife Tina, Katherine Muirhead and her husband Ben, Julia Goodheart and her husband Scott, Elizabeth Turner, Matthew Turner, Michael Turner, Ryan McSorley, Nicholas McSorley and Jillian McSorley. He is the great-grandfather of Leah and Allison Imbalzano and Hannah Muirhead. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his brother and two sisters.
Family and friends are kindly invited to the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St., Reading, to gather and share memories with the family on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, from 3 pm to 6 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.
Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, at 9:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Richard’s eternal life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St., Reading, at 10:30 am. Interment at Milton Cemetery 211 Centre Street MILTON, Massachusetts.
