READING — Chief David Clark is pleased to share that Reading Police will be wearing special patches to show support for veterans throughout the month of November.
Reading Police will be wearing commemorative patches through November in support of Home Base, an organization dedicated to helping veterans and their families. Officers who are veterans will wear patches pertaining to the military branch they’ve served in, including Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Air Force.
Dispatchers and other civilian department members will be wearing special t-shirts in support of the fundraiser.
Additionally, the Department is selling Veteran patches for $10. Those who wish to obtain a patch can either send proof of donation through the Reading Police Department page on Home Base’s website or a check made out to Home Base with a self-addressed envelope to the Reading Police Department, 15 Union St., Reading, MA 01867, to the attention of Community Service Officer DaLonn Pearson. Officer Pearson will mail the patch or patches back to those who request them.
