TRAVEIS, William X. “Bill”, age 84, of Woodbridge, VA, formerly of Reading and Marshfield, MA, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025. Born on June 14, 1941, in Cambridge, MA, Bill was the beloved son of the late William G. Traveis and Lina J. Cabral, both of Reading, MA.
He graduated from Reading High School and went on to earn both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study in Education, from Boston University. Bill dedicated his career to supporting young people as a licensed school psychologist for the Town of Tewksbury, MA, serving for 39 years.
A devoted husband, Bill was married to Rosemary Groden Traveis for nearly 23 years. He spent his youth and much of his professional life in Reading before moving to Marshfield for 15 years. For the past three years, Bill and Rosemary made their home in Woodbridge, VA.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William G. Traveis and Lina J. Cabral. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary Groden Traveis of Woodbridge, VA, formerly of West Roxbury and Marshfield, MA; stepdaughters, Susan George Toto and husband, Joseph Toto of South Yarmouth, MA and Denise George Baerga and husband, Ramsey Baerga of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren, Katherine, Dominic and Sarah Toto of South Yarmouth, MA and Ashley and Dylan Baerga of Woodbridge, VA; as well as many cousins and extended family who will miss him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, July 17, from 10:00–11:00 a.m., at Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY, MA 02132. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m., at St. Theresa of Avila Chapel.
