Reading Police Arrest and Charge Beverly Woman with Operating Under the Influence

READING — Chief David Clark reports that the Reading Police Department arrested and charged a Beverly woman with operating under the influence.

SIEREEN ALSARABI, AGE 27, of BEVERLY, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • OUI Liquor
  • Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle
  • Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle

On Sunday, Jan. 19 at approximately 1:29 a.m. Reading Police were dispatched to a rotary near Haverhill Street for reports of a disabled vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers located a silver Ford Explorer parked in the second lane of the rotary with the car still running. Wakefield Police assisted with traffic control in the area.

The vehicle also had front-end and tire damage consistent with striking an object.

While speaking with the driver, identified as ALSARABI, officers observed a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her and that she appeared to be confused as to where she was.

A preliminary investigation determined that ALSARABI was operating under the influence. ALSARABI was arrested without incident.

During a subsequent search of ALSARABI’s vehicle, officers discovered a clear plastic bottle that was believed to contain whiskey.

ALSARABI was scheduled to be arraigned in Woburn District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
