January 24, 1947 ~ November 16, 2024
Patricia Anne Cayon, 77, of Burlington, formerly of Quincy and Reading, died unexpectedly on November 16, 2024, at her home following a sudden illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Edward Cayon, Sr.
Raised in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Henry Charles and Kathleen M. (Griffin) Richards. She was a member of the Reading Memorial High School graduating class of 1966. Not long after, she accepted a job as a Clerk with Kemper Insurance, and it was there that she met and fell in love with her future husband, Stephen.
Patricia moved to Quincy in 1971, and in 1973 she and Stephen were united in holy matrimony during a Mass in St. Anns Church, Wollaston.
She was employed as an office manager from 1998-2013 at the former North American Security agency in Quincy and had also worked as a Certified Nurses Aide. Always a hard worker, Patricia was never one to just sit down; she volunteered her time at the former Quincy City Hospital working the front desk as well as the gift shop, and was a member of the Koch Club women’s bowling team. In her later years, following retirement, she took a part time job with Target and thoroughly enjoyed the people and experience during her time there. She will be lovingly remembered as an outgoing ‘people-person’.
A devout Catholic, Patricia was a long-time, active member of St. John the Baptist church where she was a member of the Women’s Sodality and the Women’s Club. Additionally, she volunteered to serve St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boston’s North End as a Eucharistic Minister from 2008-2014.
As much as Patricia enjoyed her work and church life activities, her favorite times were those spent in the company of her loving family, to whom she was exceptionally devoted and would do anything for.
Loving mother of Stephen E. Cayon, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Medford and Scott M. Cayon and his wife Yudelka Gonzalez of East Boston. Cherished grandmother of Maya, Henry and Adrian. Dear sister of Barbara Jean Wollard of Norfolk, VA. Sister-in-law of Peter Andrew of Duxbury and Ronald Cayon of Frisco, TX.
Her visitation and funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited, will be held Monday, November 25, 2024, beginning at 9:00am at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30am in St. John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
