Ongoing health issue? Recovering from surgery? Volunteers bring the library to Reading residents with RPL Takeout Service

Reading, MA—When you cannot make it to the library due to an ongoing health issue, or when recovering from an illness or surgery, try our Takeout Service. Books, magazines, DVD, audiobooks, and more can be delivered by our volunteers on a monthly or biweekly basis.

Use the library’s online catalog to place holds or contact the Elder Services Librarian for assistance in selecting materials. We will touch base the week of your scheduled delivery to confirm your availability and facilitate renewals as needed.

How do I start? Call the library, email, or scan the QR code for an application for yourself or someone you know. We will contact you to determine a time for delivery and discuss your choice of materials.

The Reading Public Library is committed to evolving together to strengthen communication, equity, collaboration, and learning in our community. Our mission is to be a center and resource for learning and civic engagement. We provide a place and platform of, by, and for the people who can benefit as individuals as well as contribute to the well-being of the community. We work to achieve these goals and commitments by focusing on education, equity, accountability, and access.
