Coming up on Saturday, June 8, Reading Friends and Family Day, This Year in Honor of Domenic Rotondi

Reading, MA — Where can you hear great music, ride a train, climb on Town vehicles, pet farm animals, and try your hand at mini-golf and inflatable axe-throwing? It’s all here and it’s free, at the 19th Reading Friends and Family Day (RFFD) on Saturday, June 8, 2024. All events take place in the Birch Meadow Fields area from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Residents of all ages will enjoy a full day of fun, food, music, giveaways, and demonstrations!

This year Reading Friends and Family Day is held in honor of Domenic Rotondi. Dom was a Reading Lion for over 65 years. He and Nancy Jenney established the first Reading Friends and Family Day (RFFD) 20 years ago on May 22, 2004. Dom’s vision and dedication in creating a true community event combining activities, food, and the participation of local groups is a legacy the Reading Lions Club is proud to continue to sponsor and organize. Dom recently passed away and will be missed by the Reading Lions Club and the entire community.

Making a comeback this year are the Kids Fun Run and a Kiddie Train. You can check out the booth and activity area for remote controlled mini-cars, petting zoo, cone games, a photo booth, facepainting, plants for kids, mini-golf, and inflatable axe-throwing! In addition to all the fun activities, the fair is a great opportunity to find out what is going on in and around Reading. Representatives from 60 community organizations, local businesses and Town departments will be on hand to offer activities, handout giveaways, and share information on local happenings.

When you need a break from all the excitement, head over for a snack at the Reading Lions Club Food Tent and enjoy some music at the Entertainment Stage.

Don’t miss this opportunity to share a great day with your neighbors and friends. See the schedule below and, for more information and an online list of activities, please visit readinglionsclub.org.
