Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield presents Jimmy Tingle Live!

HUMOR for HUMANITY. Sunday, April 7 at 3 pm

Wakefield, MA — Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield invites the community to an afternoon of laughs with Jimmy Tingle on Sunday, April 7, at 3 p.m. His special program, “Humor for Humanity,” is something we think we all can use. The New York Times says Jimmy is “More than a comic wit…so cheerfully intelligent he makes his audience optimistic in the face of reality.”

Jimmy Tingle is a nationally recognized comedian, commentator, producer, actor, activist, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of Humor for Humanity, a new social enterprise which raises spirits, funds, and awareness for nonprofits.

Jimmy graduated from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government in 2010 and was the commencement speaker that year. He has worked as a humorist and commentator for “60 Minutes II” and MSNBC and has appeared on “The Tonight Show,” CNN, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Fresh Air” with Terry Gross, and in his own HBO half-hour comedy special.

Theatrical credits include writing, performing, and producing four one-person shows. He also wrote and produced the documentary film, “Jimmy Tingle’s American Dream,” which aired on over 60 stations nationwide on PBS. Tingle has the rare distinction of winning Boston Magazine’s “Best of Boston” in the stand-up comedy category and for “best alternative theater” as the producer and artistic director of Jimmy Tingle’s OFF BROADWAY Theater in Somerville, Massachusetts.
