Obituary: Aida Kushakji, 80

January 10, 1943 — November 5, 2023

Aida Kushakji, age 80, of Methuen, formerly of Stoneham and Reading, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 5, at her residence. 

Born in Jerusalem, Palestine, on January 10, 1943, she was the daughter of Nasri Kattan and Mary Khoury. 

Aida was raised in Jerusalem until 1967, at which time she moved to Libya before eventually coming to the United States. She settled in Stoneham in 1973 and was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church. She went to work for Compugraphic. Aida was an avid contributor to the Stoneham High School Marching Band. For the past six years, she had been a resident of Methuen and enjoyed spending her winters in Naples, FL. 

She was the beloved wife of George M. Kushakji. She was the loving mother of Michael N. Kushakji and his wife Patricia of North Reading and Mark Kushakji of New Hampshire. She was the cherished grandmother of Julia, George, Mark, and Michael. She was the sister of Nahida Kattan, Suhiel Jaber, Samir Jaber, and Sami Jaber. 

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, on Friday, November 10 at 10 am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham, on Thursday, November 9, from 4-7 p.m. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
