Reading, MA –For the month of August, the store leadership at Stop & Shop’s Reading location has selected the Reading Lions Club to receive a $1 donation from every purchase of the $2.50 Stop & Shop Community Bag.
The Community Bag Program facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the vicinities where shoppers live and work. More than $2.1 million has been donated to over 5,000 local nonprofits since Stop & Shop launched the program in May 2019.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by Stop & Shop as the August Community Bag beneficiary,” said Joe Thomas, President of The Reading Lions Club. “100% of the proceeds from our fundraising go directly to our community throughout the year, and this program really helps boost our visibility in the community, which in turn, helps us achieve our fundraising goals.”
