Reading has many Halloween events leading up to the 31 of October.
The Reading Public Library has a “Dare to be Scared” event on the October 23rd. Third, fourth, and fifth graders are invited to come to the library between 6 and 8 p.m. to have a spooky night. Starting with some fun Halloween themed games run by the library’s Teen Advisory Group, the night will continue into some scary stories told by Tony Toledo. These stories will both be spooky and funny, and they will last for the remainder of the evening. No registration is necessary..
Downtown Reading will be hosting “Downtown Trick or Treat” on October 25th. Most places downtown, including the Police Station, Town Hall, and the Pleasant Street (Senior) Center will be open to trick or treating. Between the Reading Recreation Division and the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce, most businesses will be participating in this hour and a half long even on the 25. Between 4-5:30 p.m. any children 13 years of age or under can participate for free in this Trick or Treating event.
Reading Recreation Division will be hosting the 19th annual Halloween Parade at Coolidge Middle School on October 29th beginning at 11:45am. This parade is for kids 10 and under to show off their costumes at the middle school. Parents and families are welcome, and parental costumes are encouraged. This event will occur rain or shine, though the path of the parade may be abbreviated. A performance by Rick Goldin will immediately follow the parade. This is sponsored both by the Friends of Reading Recreation and the PDA Dental Group.
