Rude and arrogant are the words I would use to describe the chair of the Reading Select Board on the night of June 29, 2021.
I have observed Selectmen’s, now Select Board meetings, for over fifty years, and I have never witnessed such a rude and arrogant chair as I observed last night. In fact, for the first time that I can recall, I turned off the meeting in favor of Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
The town of Reading Charter has no provision for recall because of arrogant and rude behavior, but the voters can correct this when the person seeks re-election.
