Rose M. (Piazza) Pelusi of Reading passed away on Sunday, July 24. She was 87. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the cherished daughter of the late Guiseppe and Louise (Principato) Piazza.
Rose’s family was her number one priority, and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Every Sunday, Rose’s house was the place to be. Her family gathered around the kitchen table and enjoyed eating her homemade Italian delicacies; chicken cutlets, sauce, eggplant, lasagna, and pastries.
Rose was the beloved wife of the late Louis G. Pelusi. She was the devoted mother of Donna Reid and her husband Garnet, and Paula A. Pelusi. She was the loving Nana of Christopher Reid and his wife Emily Rackleff, Daniel Reid and his wife Heather and Bryan Reid and his wife Rory. She was the caring Big Nana of Finn Daniel Reid and the dear sister of Diane Nunn and her husband Donald, the late Grace Bove and her late husband Frank, Salvatore Piazza and his surviving wife Sara, Mary Moor and her late husband Donald. She was the sister-in-law of Rosemarie Pelusi. Rose is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her special daughter-in-law Penny Lashua.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Thursday, July 28 from 10 to 12 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral service celebrated in the funeral home at noon. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rose’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
