Reading, MA — How far would you go to get the lead in your school play? Ruthless! The Musical, playing at Colonial Chorus Players Feb. 7-16, is the satirical and dark story of a naïve 1950s housewife, Judy Denmark, and her adorable but sociopathic daughter, Tina. Young Tina insists she was born to play Pippi Longstocking in her school play and will do absolutely anything to get the role. With music by Marvin Laird and lyrics by Joel Paley, this musical has been called “a demented pleasure” (New York Newsday) and “a wonderfully smart and funny send-up of every Broadway brat from Gypsy to The Bad Seed” (Variety).
